Seimitsu LS-55-01 Joystick (Omron switch version)

The LS-55-01 is a very uncommon Seimitsu joystick within the product catalogue, favoured by players preferring a balance of accuracy and overall snappiness and stiffness.

It shares a lot of common DNA with the legendary LS-33, which has garnered a huge fanbase and is considered a contender of best ever Japanese lever. 

What sets this joystick apart is the different construction to usual Japanese levers. The LS-55-01 uses a round metal washer instead of a pivot, that allows the bottom of the shaft cover to tilt directly onto the washer surface. In addition, there is no spring hat below the mount plate - instead a long body actuator is used to deeply compress a light tension spring which allows the actuator to "float" below the joystick body in a perfect level to engage the microswitches. The microswitch short hinge levers and restrictor perform as usual.

This joystick performs admirably and consistently for users looking for fast ON/OFF actuation. Spring strength is approximately just below half of the LS-56-01 spring. Engage distance and throw is well spaced and balanced.

This joystick is compatible with the Seimitsu octagonal gate (Omron version) and most accessories for the LS-56-01. Ships with an MS mount plate.
