This is an aluminium core, high strength PCB allowing after market microswitches to be used on the JLF joystick, including .187 fastener “silent” switches.

This product has full Sanwa JLX compatibility.

Since this product is a drop-in replacement to the entire standard JLF microswitch assembly (TP-MA), users can opt to implement the Shuriken V2 in a number of different scenarios.  For instance;

  • As an easier way to replace faulty or worn out individual microswitches, rather than having to de-solder the original PCB or throw out the entire PCB which may still have good functioning switches.
  • As a method of allowing greater access to aftermarket and different tension microswitches for individual tuning and competitive play support.

The Shuriken V2 is a game changer in so far that it is an easy drop-in replacement, requiring no soldering or electronic expertise whatsoever. It is fully compatible with other aftermarket kits such as the OTTO DIY V2 & V5 kits (however, NOT compatible with the Sanjuk).

An excerpt from an official statement from Sanwa Denshi about the BBG Shuriken: "...we find Bit Bang Gaming's "SHURIKEN", a PCB that can be changed to a switch of your choice, to be a particularly interesting product...we are grateful for the appearance of SHURIKEN". (Sanwa Denshi 2022 via Twitter)

The Shuriken V2 accepts .187 and .250 fastener type Omron V, D2RV and D3V microswitches of all tensions AND Gersung GSM-V switches (100+ compatible at last count). This permits user preference of switches at a wider range of operating forces and now includes silent switch implementation. Importantly so, the JLF Shuriken V2 still utilises the standard 5 pin connector to attach to wiring harnesses, eliminating the need for any special adapters/harnesses.

V1 versus V2:

The Shuriken V1 did not allow for .187 tab width microswitches to be utilised, however this newest V2 has updated, sturdier terminals. As a result, the user will apply light force with needle nose pliers to nudge the terminal into the correct position for .187 width compatibility.
